Tips on making Appointments
- For a new (acute) problem, you will initially be assessed over the phone by our on-call triage team, with a view to an appointment on the same day.
- For an ongoing (chronic) condition you will be seen by your GP, or else can be booked in for a telephone consultation to discuss your problem over the phone
- Pre-book with your own Doctor 2 weeks in advance *(if available)
Pre-book with the Practice Nurse a month in advance *(if available)
*(Your GP / Nurse may be unavailable due to annual leave or sickness)
Please give the Patient Advisor a brief account of your problem, it helps you to receive the most effective and appropriate appointment.
Don’t shoot the messenger! Remember the staff have a limited amount of appointments to offer and are following the instructions of your GP.
To help us and fellow Patients: If you are not phoning for an appointment, avoid calling at busy times to allow others to call. Results, queries etc. can be dealt with later in the morning.
Please cancel as soon as you can if you are unable to keep an appointment— others can use it!
